New displays have been created to show the impact of World War 1 on Margate. The current exhibition on the Great war runs through to 2018, being updated each year throughout the period. It concerns Margate 1914 -18 with stories, photographs and artefacts. Incorporated into this are three exhibits from community organisations,. The Army Cadets have put together a PowerPoint presentation and static exhibit on Capt. Noel, William Ward Webb MC and Bar, a pilot in RFC who was shot down on 16th August 1917. The Scouts have put together a static display about scouting in 1914-18. The Community Pharmacy Gallery have built a model of the L15 Zeppelin. The exhibition is on display on Wednesdays (until end of September) Saturdays and Sundays 11.oo to 5.00 pm. Each week, a copy of the relevant week’s local newspaper is reproduced here.
