A postcard of Deal Bandstand and Pier sent 25th August 1917. It is not possible to determine why the sender, Reg, was visiting the town but we believe that the Colin referred to in the card was brother to Reg and the recipient of the card, Violet.
The transcribed text reads:
‘Dear Vi. Thank very much for your letter & sketch. Tell father that Deal is very much like Southsea on a smaller scale. Colin came here when he first joined up. Fondest Love Reg’
‘Miss Violet Fowler, The Hollies, Parkstone Avenue, Parkstone, Dorset’
